To All Great Basin Elks Members:
For our Flag Day event this year, the membership has agreed to assist in the Flags for Heros event taking place on May 28 – May 30. Attached is an informational flier that outlines the event. Danny Alexander, our Veterans Services Chairman, is organizing a work party from the Great Basin Elks to put flags up and take them down during the Memorial Day weekend. The following is information from Danny for anyone that wishes to participate.
Put up the flags – 0800, Friday May 27th
Take down the flags – 0800, Tuesday May 31st
Everyone should meet at the Spring Creek High School Parking Lot on both days.
We will be cleaning up the area around Porter Roofing at 7:30-8:00AM on Saturday 23 April 2016 at 120 West Main St, Elko. There is a large empty lot that needs some attention. Please meet at 120 West Main St. for a short safety briefing and to receive your shirts, raffle tickets, and dump vouchers. I allowed for a couple kids in our tally so if you have a younger person who wants to join us, I should have a shirt and lunch ticket. Be prepared for some rain. “They” say there is an 80% chance, but hopefully we will be out and done by the time the rain comes. Bring gloves, rakes, and whatever you deem useful for weed and trash pick-up.
