Next Meeting: Thurs. May 26, 2022

The next regular meeting of Elks Lodge 1472 will be on Thursday, May 26 at the Masonic Lodge in Elko, NV. The doors and bar will open at 5:00 PM for social hour(s) and the business meeting begins at 7:00 PM.

The Building Fund Committee will be hosting our monthly potluck and at 6:00 PM they will be serving a potato bar.

Clean up at Hole in the Mountain at Gerber’s Ranch is this Saturday. Please meet at the lodge at 7:00 AM on Saturday and we will drive out together. Please bring gloves, rakes, shovels, and chain saws (if you have them). Also bring plenty of water and a lunch. This event is to ready the campsite for our campout in August.

The Installation of Officers and next regular meeting of Elks Lodge 1472 will be on Thursday, April 14 at the Masonic Lodge in Elko, NV. The doors and bar will open at 5:00 PM for social hour(s) and the Installation of Officers begins at 7:00 PM.

The outgoing Exalted Ruler and First Lady will be hosting a potato bar, which will begin at 6:00 PM. Please come and join us to see the installation of the new officers for the 2022-2023 Elk Year. This is open to the public. 

Flag Day – June 14, 2021

Since 1911, the BPOE have been honoring the history of this country and the birth of the American flag via a tribute to the flag of the United States of America on Flag Day.  Please join us on Flag Day, Monday, June 14, 2021, at 5:30 PM as our lodge officers perform the time honored Flag Day ceremony.  The ceremony is both patriotic and historical.  We will meet on the south lawn at the lodge.
After the Flag Day ceremony, we will introduce and honor our local 2021 scholarship and awards recipients.
The attire is casual.  If you have a blue Nevada Elks vest, please wear it.  You may want to bring a lawn chair.  Bottled water will be provided on site by the Elks Lodge.

Beer Tasting & BBQ Veteran’s Fundraiser

When: 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 20th 

Where: 1163 McClellan Avenue, Spring Creek (South Fork Reservoir) 

Beer tasting will consist of beers from the Hound Dog Brewery (homebrew) and Sam Adams. 

Some Wine and sodas will be available. 

Food will be hamburgers, sausages, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, and various desserts. 

Feel free to bring a dessert. 

Cost is $25 per person, or $40 per couple. Kids age 10 – 18 are $5, under 10 are free 

Event is open to Elks and their guests. Kids are welcome. 

Friendly dogs too, except yard is not fenced. 

All the proceeds go the Elks Veteran Fund to assist veterans in need. 

Please come and have a good time while helping out the Veterans.

Legacy Scholarships

Do you know a high school senior who is a child or grandchild of a dues paying Elk? Encourage them to apply for a Legacy Award Scholarship! The 2020 application is open until January 31, 2020.  Just visit https://www.elks.org/scholars/scholarships/Legacy.cfm, scroll down to Apply Now and get started!  

Scholarship-seeking season comes to an end on January 31 when the Legacy Awards application closes. Legacy Awards are available to high school seniors who are the children or grandchildren of dues-paying Elks. Each Legacy Award recipient will receive a $4,000 scholarship distributed over the course of their college career. Legacy awards scholars are required to serve with the Elks at least once per year.
